The high concentration of soluble salts in the whole planet soils is one of the most common problems in agriculture and, in turn, one of the most difficult to solve. It is estimated that there are more than 45 million hectares of irrigated agriculture that are affected by salinity both with natural origin or caused by human activities. In order to optimize the crops yield, it is necessary to know the saline level of our fields and, at the same time, try to take the corresponding measures to control a problem with difficult solution but with the possibility of reduce its negative consequences through the use of the correct agricultural practices and specific products. Following this objective, we have prepared a presentation where we deal the topic of the salinity in the agricultural soils. To solve a problem the key is to identify and define it, to understand it and then, provide solutions with a multidisciplinary approach.
